you are going from a red to a yellow to a red to a yellow...{BRAD}

Well this was an interesting weekend for our whole family…and a huge lesson in making things work!
I had flown to MN this last weekend to join my friends for a scrapbooking weekend.  (Really it is just an excuse to chat with girlfriends and eat way too much!)  I was scheduled to fly home on Sunday afternoon.  Needless to say Mother Nature had a different idea.  MN was hit with another big whopper.
After countless flights being cancelled, delayed, and booked full…it looked like I would be headed home on Monday.  My new schedule would begin at Minneapolis with a flight to Chicago.  From Chicago I would fly to Long Island.  From Long Island I would fly to Baltimore.   After excitedly telling Brad my new flight schedule, and that I would be able to make it home on Monday night…he looked at the storm to see what my chances would be of actually arriving in Baltimore.
Brad then let me know that the weather channel had predicted the severity of my rout as “going from a red to a yellow to a red to a yellow.”
After some wonderful South West workers went out of their way to make sure I made every connection…I arrived in Baltimore at 6:55 pm.  (I am sure that I was one of the FEW lucky ones to make it home that early.)

it's a soily...{MAX}

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Because Brad has classes at Johns Hopkins on Monday and Wednesday nights, Cupid visited our family last night…with Chinese food.  (yum)
Don’t worry…today was still a fun and exciting day full of hugs and kisses.  Max was excited to pass out the Valentine’s Day cards that he had made and carefully written out for all of his classmates.  He was also very excited to hand out ring pops with his heart shaped cards.
When he came home his Star Wars back pack was stuffed full of cute cards and pink colored treats.  Usually I unpack his back pack and check his folder for any paperwork send home by Mrs. Owen, Max’s teacher.  Today Max told me that he would unpack his bag, and that I should wait down stairs with my eyes closed.  When he came down the stairs he placed a Valentine’s Day card in my hand.   It was a beautiful handmade card.  After I opened my eyes, Max told me…”look mom, it’s a soily.”   Max made our family a heart shaped card backed with a doily.  On the card he wrote…I love you family because you play the Wii with me.
I love you too, Baby Guy!

it is probably from his store, remember his target...{MAX}

When will it get old saying “GO PACK GO?”  Apparently not for awhile at our house!

Today Max got a special package in the mail.  His papa Kutz sent him a little love from WI.  Max opened his package with an excited grin…and inside he found a Green Bay Packer super bowl championship shirt.  After the thrill of a new green and gold shirt wore off, Max let me know…“it is probably from his store, remember his target?”
Max is so excited to represent his winning team with his new shirt at school this week!  Thank you so much papa Kutz!
So how are we doing out here in Steeler country?  Don’t worry…the Raven fans are still bitter about their loss to the Steelers in the playoffs, that us Green Bay fans have a little support.  (Brad may be a little over confident as he wore his Rodgers jersey and cheese head to work this last Friday.)

can you tell it is a heart and a lemon...{MAX}

Today Max celebrated his 100th day of school.  Boy, time sure goes buy quickly!
Our family is also looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day.  Let’s be honest…I just like the excuse to over indulge in chocolate.
Max will get to experience Valentine’s Day with his classroom this year.  Although there will not be a classroom party, the children will get to participate in some fun activities and pass out Valentines to their friends.  Mrs. Owen, Max’s teacher, told me that this week the children would be making Valentine’s Day mail boxes in class.  How fun!  Just like mom and dad did when we were in grade school.
Tonight we started to write out our Valentine’s Day cards for school.  Max is working on adding details to his writing and pictures.  “Can you tell it is a heart and a lemon?” is what Max asked me after working on one of his cards.  (He drew a picture of many hearts with a few lemons.)  Does Max already know how love is bitter sweet?  When I asked him why he drew the two together his answer was…”I thought it would be funny.”  Maybe greeting cards are in his future?
